This 2-day course, delivered by a certified MHFA England instructor, will qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider. You will come away from this course with: -
- An in-depth understanding of Mental Health + the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers + signs of Mental Health issues
- Confidence to step in + support a person in distress, using the MHFA action plan
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health, by guiding them to support
- An understanding of how to keep themselves safe while performing their duties
Course Content
Learning takes place across four manageable sessions, through a mix of interactive group activities, presentations and discussions.
- Session 1 Mental Health First Aid, mental health + depression
- Session 2 Depression (cont.) + suicidal crisis
- Session 3 Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders + self harm
- Session 4 Psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder
